Abstract

Penelitian mengenai “Estimasi Kandungan Karbon Tumbuhan Bawah pada Ekosistem Rawa di Desa Sungai Rambutan Kecamatan Inderalaya Utara Kabupaten Ogan Ilir Sumatera Selatan” telah dilakukan pada bulan Juli sampai Agustus 2010, lokasi penelitian di Desa Sungai Rambutan dan analisis data di Laboratorium Ekologi, Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Sriwijaya, Inderalaya. Penentuan plot menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling dengan jumlah plot yang digunakan sebanyak 3 plot sebesar 5m x 40 m dengan 18 sub plot pada setiap plot. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pemanenan (destructive sampling) untuk menghitung biomassa tumbuhan bawah dan 46% dari biomassa merupakan nilai kandungan karbon. Hasil penelitian menunjukan rata-rata kandungan karbon tumbuhan bawah yaitu 3,028 ton/ha, dengan jumlah kandungan karbon tumbuhan bawah terbesar 3,226 ton/ha pada plot 2 sedangkan jumlah kandungan karbon terkecil pada plot 1 yaitu 2,720 ton/ha. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata kandungan karbon tumbuhan bawah sebesar 3,028 ton/ha.
