Abstract
Plastics are synthetic materials from the polymerization of various kinds of monomers. Plastics used to be often end up being a solid waste which disposed to be environment and increase in gradual weathering (chemical & physical) and biological degradation, producing plastic fragments and particles called microplastic. Microplastic is one of the pollutants because with sizes between 10 μm-2 mm it capable to contaminating marine biota even spread in the waters and shorps substrate. Microplastic contains chemical compounds that are added during it creation and are absord the contaminants around the environments. Water resources include the water quality that are unable to fulfill the needs and domestic requirements became decrease. One of the main factors of decreasing the water quality is from industrial, domestic and other activities. Increasing the number of industries followed by the amount of waste, both in the form of solid, liquid or gas waste, because the waste contains toxcic chemicals compound and dangerous also enter into the waters. One of these B3 wastes is heavy metal. The aimed of this study was to analyze the content of copper (Cu) particulate in the waters. This research was conducted in November - December 2018 in the Musi waters, south sumatera province. The result showed that the microplastic Cu in the ranged from 0.0144 - 0.3683 ppm with an average of 0.9391 ppm and copper (Cu) particulate ranging from 0.0247 - 0.0614 ppm with an average value of 0.0411 ppm. The relationship between copper (Cu) on microplastic and copper (Cu) particulate has a low or no correlation, with determination 0.03%.
