Abstract

Isolasi, karakterisasi, dan identifikasi bakteri pendegradasi minyak bumi dari kawasan mangrove Sungsang, Kabupaten Banyuasin, Sumatera Selatan dilakukan pada bulan November 2008 sampai Juli 2009 di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi, Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Sriwijaya, Inderalaya. Tujuannya adalah untuk mendapatkan isolat bakteri indigen yang berpotensi mendegradasi hidrokarbon minyak bumi dan mengidentifikasinya berdasarkan karakteristik yang dimilikinya. Sampel diambil dari tiga stasiun, yaitu Stasiun I, Stasiun 2, dan Stasiun 3. Hasilnya diperoleh sebelas isolat bakteri indigen yang berpotensi dalam mendegradasi hidrokarbon minyak bumi yang teridentifikasi dari genus Pseudomonas, Azotobcicter, Enterobacler, Bacillus, Lactobacillus, Klebsiella, Listeria, Acinetobacter, Alcaligenes, dan Eubacterium. Kata kunci: bakteri indigen, bakteri pendegradasi hidrokarbon minyak bumi.
