Abstract
The research was objected to find out the best combination of seedling medium composition and NPK-Fertilizer dosage to the growth of Pulai seedling. The research was conducted at Common Nursery of Gasing Village, Talang Kelapa Subdistrict, Banyu Asin Regency, South Sumatera, started from April to August2005.This research was using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which was arranged in factorial with two factors. First factor was seedling medium with charcoal compost composition, that were Mo = 100 % top soil medium, Mi = 10 %charcoal compost of medium, M2= 20 % charcoal compost of medium, M3 = 30 %charcoal compost of medium, M4 = 40 % charcoal compost of medium. Second factor was NPK-Fertilizer dosage that were P0 = 0 g NPK-Fertilizer, Pi = 0,5 g NPK- Fertilizer, P2 = 1,0 g NPK-Fertilizer, P3 = 1,5 g NPK-Fertilizer, P4 = 2,0 g NPK- Fertilizer. Each treatment consisted of three replications and each unit of treatment consisted of eight plants.The result indicated that combination of seedling medium and NPK-Fertilizer gave significant effect to the increasing of plant height and its diameter. Composition of 30 % charcoal compost of medium and 1,5 g NPK-Fertilizer (M3P3) were to show the best effect to the growth of Pulai seedling.
