Abstract
This research was aimed at knowing the effects of extract, exudates andintercropping of marigold on the development of Meloidogyne javanica on tomato. This research was conducted in Nematological Laboratory and Glass house ofFaculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University Indralaya, from April to August 2005.The experiment was arranged in a Factorial Completely Randomised Designcomprised of two factors i.e. aplication method (factor A) and marigold density(factor B) with 3 (three) replications. Factor A consisted of Al (interplanting), A2 (exudates),and A3 (extract) while factor B consisted of BI (one marigold per pot),B2 (3 marigold per pot), B3 (5 marigold per pot), B4 (7 marigold per pot). Theparameters observed were the number of galls, the number of eggmasses and thenumber of nematodes.The results showed that the best treatment of extract marigold was at density of 7 plant per pot with suppresed the number of galls, the number of eggmasses and the number of nematodes.
