Abstract
Chitin of prawns shell had been isolated through demineralized and deproteinized process. Chitin were characterizated through identification of functional groups, determination of deacetylation degree by FTIR spectroscopy, determination of water and ash contents. Chitin was used as the ionophore of membrane Cu2+ ion selective electrode (ISE). There ware three membranes had been made of Cu2+ ISE was the first membrane without plasticizer, second membrane with dioctylphtalate (DOP) plasticizer, the three membrane use acetophenon as plasticizer. The result of FTIR showed the amida functional groups on chitin (-NHCOCH3) and the result of counted 44.43% w/w deacetylation degree, 1.8691% w/w water degree and 26.15% w/w ashes degree. The result of research also showed the third membrane had composition which good of Cu2+ ISE with Nemst Factor 34.18 mV/decade, the concentration range 10'2 - 10‘5 M, detection limit 10'3,9734 M and the best selectivity of Cu2+ ion.
