Abstract

During this Covid-19 Pandemic situation, sanitation is needed to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Poor sanitation always leads to spread of disease and to deaths from infectious diseases and of course it is going to impact every aspect of life. This research aims to analyze the sanitary conditions for the environment of community based Covid-19 prevention households in Kelurahan Lorok Pakjo Kecamatan Ilir Barat 1. This study uses a qualitative method with descriptive design. Information is collected through in-depth interviews and observation. Informants in this study amounted to 20 people. The data analysis used is content analysis. Validity tests are conducted through the triangulation of sources, methods, and data. The result showed that the community had access to clean water and it completely fulfills the quality standards of safe water used for daily life. In addition, the community has not fully provided handwashing facilities that meet the standards, such as facilities not equipped with soap and lacking information posters about proper washing technique. The temporary waste disposal facilities provided by the community have not met existing standards, for example, they are not made of strong materials, are not easy to clean and many are not equipped with covers. Some people do not carry out processing and sorting of waste before finally throwing it into the trash. Also, the implementation of disinfection is no longer routine. This is because people can not afford to buy the disinfectant. This research advises that the community increases its knowledge and awareness in community based Covid-19 prevention households in Kelurahan Lorok Pakjo.
