Abstract
The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the growth and yields of com varieties (Zea mays L.) which had adaptation ability and high yield.The research was conducted on May to August 2007 at Balai Agroteknologi Terpadu Ministry State of Research and Technology in North of Indralaya, Ogan Ilir,South Sumatera.The research used randomized block design consists of twelve treatmentswith three replications. The treatments were ten varieties (Sukmaraga, SrikandiKuning, Gumarang, Srikandi Putih, Anoman, Sukmaraga #, Lamuru, Pulut Harapan,Bima-2 and Bima-3) and two galur harapan (G. 180/MR. 14 and G.193/MR. 14).The result of this research showed that varietie populations and lines influenced very significantly to the plant height, leave number, flowering dates, harvest date, seed number/ear row, ear rows/cob, bulai disease percentage and the seed yield, Ieaf chloropyl, but did not influence leaf width, and 100 seed weight.Varieties Bima-2 and galur G. 180/MR. 14 were varieties and galur that had the highest yields compared to other varieties and lines. The production rotation for these varieties were 2,33 ton/ha for Bima-2 varieties and 1,72 ton/ha for G. 180/MR. 14 lines and Anoman varieties, Pulut Harapan and Srikandi Putih had the lowest yields with 0,33 ton/ha, 0,19 ton/ha and 0,42 ton/ha.
