Abstract

Penelitian mengenai seleksi beberapa rumput rawa yang berpotensi sebagai agen fitoremediasi limbah cair minyak bumi telah dilakukan pada bulan Juni-Desember 2012 di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan rumput rawa yang paling berpotensi sebagai agen fitoremediasi limbah cair minyak bumi. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) berpola faktorial dengan dua faktor yaitu konsentrasi limbah cair minyak bumi (0%, 25%, 50% dan 75%) dan jenis rumput {Scirpus grossus, Fimbristylis sp, dan Hymenachne acutigluma) kombinasi perlakuan terdiri atas 12 dan 3 kali ulangan. Variabel yang diamati yaitu berat basah, persentase penurunan TPH dan perubahan morfologi rumput. Hasil yang didapat pada akhir fitoremediasi menunjukkan bahwa berat basah tertinggi ditunjukkan oleh rumput Hymenanchne acutigluma pada konsentrasi 50% dengan rata-rata berat basah sebesar 453,33 gr. Hasil uji TPH menunjukkan bahwa semua jenis rumput memiliki kemampuan berbeda-beda dalam menurunkan TPH. Persentase penurunan yang tinggi yaitu pada konsentrasi limbah cair minyak bumi 50% dan 75% dengan rumput Scirpus grossus. Pada perlakuan Scirpus grossus dengan konsentrasi limbah cair minyak bumi 50% dan 75% adalah jenis rumput yang lebih berpotensi untuk fitoremediasi limbah cair minyak bumi dibandingkan Hymenanchne acutigluma dan Fimbristylis sp.
