Abstract
Two compounds of secondary metabolites has been isolated fforn endophytic fungi of brotowali (Tinospora crispa L) stem. Isolation began by cultivation of Aspergillus spi fungi in 4 litres of PDB {Potato Dextrose Broth) media for eight weeks. Medium culture was extracted partially using ethyl acetate and then followed evaporated by evaporation. Separation and purification of isolated compound using gravity column chromatographic technique. Antibacterial activity by disc diffusion method was tested againt E. coli, S. dysentriae, S. aureus, and B.subtilis bacteria. Two isolated compounds one of them is colourless oil (compound 1) while anorther is white crystals (compound 2) with melting point is 155-156°C. Base on spectroscopy analysis data UV, IR, lH-NMR and NMR showed that compound 1 is bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate and compound 2 is 5-hydroxy-4 (l-hydroxymethyl)-l-piran-2-on. Antibacterial activity assay showed inhibition zone diameter test againt E. coli, S. dysenteriae, S. aureus, and B. subtilis bacteria compound 1 6.5; 6.7; 6.8; 6.6 mm respectively and compound 2 showed inhibition zone diameter 8.3; 10.0; 12.2; 9.7 mm respectively at concentration 500 ppm.
