Abstract
The aim of this research are isolated and characterized triterpenoid from methanol extract of katemas stem {Euphorbia geniculata ortega). To evaluate toxicity of methanol exctract have been conducted mortality test against armyworm larvae {spodoptera litura). The assay was carry out with no choise test method using variances of extract methanol concentration (0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%). The highest mortality was displayed at 5% concentration while the 50% of lethal concentration (LC50) at 3,92%. The isolation process was conducted by a series work steps such as extraction, fractionation and purification. Extraction process was done by maceration method using methanol as a solvent. Fractionation and purification were conducted by a vary of chromatography techniques. Three compounds have been succesful isolated from isolation proces i.e. compound 1 (63 mg), compound 2 (1 mg), and compound 3 (2 mg). One of them (compound 1) has been identified by spectroscopy data analysis ('H-NMR, uC-NMR, HSQC and HMBC). The identified compound is pentacyclic triterpenoid namely lupeol asetat.
