Abstract
Catalyst Fe-Mn-K-Cu-y-Al203 and Co-Mn-Cu-Y-Al2033 have been prepared by wet impregnation method. Catalysts were calcined at temperature 350°C for 5 hours. Both Catalysts are characterized using XRD difffactometer, Spectrofotometer FT-IR, and Annova BET. XRD pattem shows value 20 in range of 10-60°, which identified as low level of crystallinity. The FTIR spectra produces absorption peak at wave numbers in range of 300-600 cm'1, which indicated the absorption peak for inorganic compound, especially metal oxides. The results of adsorption-desorption isoterm shows the decreasing of surface area of catalyst, pore diameter and the average pore volume by addition of d-block metals resulted from impregnation. Furthermore, Fe-Mn-K-Cu-Y-Al203 and Co-Mn-Cu-y-Al203 catalysts are used for Friedel-Craft acylation reaction between benzene and anhydrous acetic acid. The reaction between benzene and anhydrous acetic acid using Fe-Mn-K-Cu-y-Al203 and Co-Mn-Cu-y-Al203 catalysts, shows only Fe-Mn-K-Cu-y-Al203 catalysts that produces acetophenone. Pure acetophenone is formed using Fe-Mn-K-Cu-y-AI203 catalyst in 10 hours reaction at 80°C with 13,6% yield that was identified by 'H-NMR spectrometer.
