Abstract

The objective of the research was to investigate the species and population ofpredator beetle on chili plantation in Indralaya and Banyuasin. The research wasconducted at growing chili field in Inderalaya and Banyuasin, from March to May2008. The research was done in purposive sampling method and located in 4 chili field each ± 500 m2.The result showed 4 species of predator beetle (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), were Verania discolor F., Verania lineata Th., Harmonia octomaculata F. and Coccinella sp. The population of predator beetle in Inderalaya was 1326 and Banyuasin was 1795.
