Abstract
The research was aimed at determininy colony and hyphal interaction between Rhizoctonia solani and rhizosphere fungi under in vitro condition fiingal ability as antagonist agents. The research was conducted in Mycological Laboratory of Plant and Pest Diseases Department, Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University from June to December 2006. Descriptive method was used in this research. The parameters observed were pattem of colony interaction, colony growth suppression, and hyphal interaction. The result showed that the pattem of colony interaction between R solani and rhizosphere fungi were very miscelaneous. In Trichoderma, pattem of interaction was overgrowth interaction rated 2 and 3, slight inhibition, and inhibition at a distance, to Penicillium and Phoma showed overgrowth interactions, and to Fusarium and Sterile fungi the pattem of interaction showed mutually growth and overgrowth. Percentage of suppresion on average highest was Trichoderma 36,87%, then Phoma 30,46%, Fusarium 24,23 %, Penicillium 21,65 %, and Sterile fungi 20,24% with amount 22,1-63,3%, 13,3-49,7%, 2,3-35,3%, 12,2-29,7%, 10,2-43,5%. Hyphal interaction between Trichoderma with R solani showed penetration, coiling, vacuolation, lysis, but interaction hyphal between Penicillium, Phoma, Fusarium and Sterile fungi with R. solani showed of their hyphal piling up.
