Abstract

Chili is one of the horticultural products that has important economic value in Indonesia. Besides being used as vegetables or cooking spices, chili also has a high economic value, so that it can increase farmers' income. One of the main obstacles to the low productivity of chillies is caused by curl yellow virus diseases infections. Plants infected by the viruses got stunted growth, and decreased plants yields. This study aims to determine the distribution of yellow virus on chili in Tanjung Pering Village Indralaya. This study uses survey method by observing directly the disease in the field and conducting interviews to find out the history of the land and how the farmer grow crops. Observations were made in 5 farmer lands in Tanjung Pering Village. Observations are included the symptoms and disease diversity as well as Area Under the Disease Progress Curve (AUDPC). The result showed that, all plant observed more or less have been infected by the viruses with percentage of disease incidence by 100%. The highest percentage of disease severity was observed on the 5th farmer's land with by 81.43%, while the lower one was observed on the 3rd farmer land by 69.76%.
