Abstract

This study aims to find out the program strategy conducted by TVRI South Sumatra in an effort to improve its quality as a local television in the Gayung Bersambut Program. This thesis uses Morissan's theory of broadcast program strategy management that consists of program planning, program production and purchase, program execution, program supervision and evaluation. This study is using qualitative descriptive approach. From the data of interviews, observations, literature studies and documents, it can be analyzed and obtained results from four aspects of the theory by Morissan.The location of this study is LPP TVRI South Sumatra. Based on the results of the research that the program strategy conducted by TVRI South Sumatra in program planning using dynamic patterns or always changing and developing. For production the program dominates more for its own production than for the acquisition of the program. As for the supervision and evaluation of the program is conducted through the Broadcast Evaluation Meeting. The strategic function of local culture in the program "Gayung Bersambut" is basically to emphasize the local culture and provide information about the culture of south Sumatra.
