Abstract

The phenolic compound from endophytic fungi Aspergillus niger living in tunjuk langit root’s plant (Helminthostachys zeylanica (Linn) Hook) have been isolated. Isolation began with cultivation of Aspergillus niger fungi in 5 L of PDB's media ( Potato Dextrose Broth ) until eight weeks. Then, the media extracted partially used ethyl acetate and then have been evaporated. The extract of concentrated ethyl acetate had been separated and purified by gravity column chromatography techniques to obtain the pure compound in the form of a solid white. The structure of these pure compound was determined by the methode of spectroscopy consist of UV, IR, NMR 1D and 2D. Based on the analysis of spectroscopic data the isolation of pure compound was phenolic groups where have a pair of meta coupled protons, have -OH group to chelate with the carbonyl group of ketones, and 3 methoxy group. These compound have 18 signal carbon consists of 14 C sp2 dan 4 C sp3. Based on these data concluded that endophytic microbe Aspergillus niger ffom tunjuk langit root’s plant was produce the different compound from their host plants.
