Abstract
Preparation of calcium oxide from quail egg shell through decomposition process for 3 hours at temperature variations 600-1100°C has been carried out. Calcium oxide was characterized using X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) and FT-IR spectrophotometer. The result of XRD analysis showed the diffraction pattem of CaO at temperature 900°C a quite similar with Standard fforn JCPDS, which has value of 20: 32.3°, 37.4°, 53.9°, 64.3°, 67.5°. FT-IR spectra indicated vibration of CaO appeared at wavenumber 316.33 cm"1. The Calcium oxide wasapplied for synthesis of biodiesel from waste cooking oil. Biodiesel product has density 0.862 g/cm3, viscosity 5.50 cSt, acid value 0.561 mg/KOH and iodine number 60.49 g h/lOOg. Ali characterization of biodisel is appropriate with SNI Standard.
