Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh diameter revolver air dan nozel dari alat spray irrigation terhadap diameter droplet air, debit air dan lebar penyiraman. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di laboratorium Sumber Daya Alam, Jurusan Teknologi Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya Indralaya pada bulan Juni 2005 sampai dengan selesai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang disusun secara faktorial. Faktor yang diteliti adalah diameter revolver air dan nozel. Masing-masing kombinasi perlakuan dilakukan ulangan sebanyak lima kali. Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari tiga taraf yang meliputi perlakuan diameter lubang revolver air (2 mm, 2,5 mm, 3 mm) dan perlakuan diameter nozel (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm). Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan diameter revolver air dan perlakuan diameter nozel berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap karakteristik droplet air yang meliputi ukuran droplet, debit air dan lebar penyiraman. Untuk penggunaan revolver air dan nozel yang optimum sebaiknya menggunakan ukuran diameter revolver air 2 mm dan diameter 6 mm untuk mendapatkan karakteristik droplet air mendekati curah hujan efektif.
