Abstract
The secondary metabolites compound have been isolated from endophytic fungi from root of Asam Kandis (Garcinia cowa). And than do it cultivation of Acremonium sp. fungi in 5 L of PDB's media ( Potato Dextrose Broth ) for 27 days. Liquid culture was extracted into the solvent ethyl acetate following by evaporation. Ethyl acetate extract was separated and purified by chromatography techniques in order to get pure compound. The molecular structure of the isolated compound was determined based on spectroscopy data including UV, NMR 1D and 2D and the isolated compound was submitted to antibacterial activity assay using dififusion disk method for concentration 0,5%, 1%, 2%, and 4%. Based on the spectroscopy, it showed that the result of isolation compound is type of pyranon that is 5-hydroxy-4-(hydroxymethyl)-2H-pyran-2-on with molecule formula is C6H6O4. These compound are active against bacterial assay S. aureus a half of Standard antibacterial tetrasiclin activity.
