Abstract
The research aims to determine at the accumulation levels of Hg in the hair and examine the relationship of work period with Hg levels in hair. Analysis of Hg countain in the hair using cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry (CVAAS) batch system. The research showed that the longer work period cause increased levels of Hg. The mean Hg levels of hair in the gold miners with work period <5 years, 6-10 years, and >10 years in a row is 6.38 mgAcg, 7.44 mg/kg, and 10.89 mg/kg. The research also showed Hg levels in hair gold miners about 5.93 mg/kg - 14.75 mg/kg with the mean 8.24 mg/kg. Hg countain in the hair gold miners is higher than normal Hg (1 mg/kg - 2 mg/kg). The research data showed differences about hair sample with control sample is 6.62 mg/kg.
