Abstract

This study aims to analyze body posture when cutting oil palm fruit during the harvesting process and work risk based on scores using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. This research was carried out from June to completion. Egrek is used on oil palm trees that are more than six years old or since the tree reaches a height of three meters or more, while dodo is used on oil palm trees that are less than four years old with a maximum average height of 3 meters using egrek and dodos when carry out the activity of cutting oil palm fruit fronds from trees and work risks based on scores using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. The REBA method is used to analyze body postures such as the posture of the neck, back, legs, upper arms, forearms and hands. In the Reba Method there is an assessment score and risk level starting from the smallest, namely the score 1 is ignored and the highest is 11-15 which is very high and needs to be changed immediately. From the results of the research that has been done, the researchers also measured the Body Mass Index (BMI) to determine the nutritional condition of workers, the measurement of body dimensions, namely anthropometry, the Nordic body map table to find out complaints of pain in the workers' bodies due to harvesting. palm oil and step test to determine cardiac resistance (endurance) to the performance of the heart and lungs. The lowest score in the results of this study was the dodos 1 worker who used the dodos harvester and got a score of 5 while the highest was the dodos 2 worker who got a score of 9. Researchers have also provided suggestions for ergonomic improvements in the worker's posture so that workers can see the risks in carrying out activities oil palm harvesting.
