Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan data pasang surut di 5 (lima) stasiun pengamatan pasang surut, yaitu: Boombaru, Sungai Lais, Selat Jaran, Upang dan Tanjung Buyut. Data pasang surut tersebut diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan Pelindo II Cabang Palembang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Komputer Program Studi Imu Kelautan Fakultas MIPA Universitas Sriwijaya, dan dimulai dari bulan Maret sampai dengan bulan April tahun 2011. Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian adalah menganalisis pola perambatan pasang surut dan mengetahui tipe pasang. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif komperatif terhadap time series data oseanografi, yaitu data pasang surut mulai dari tahun 2000 sampai dengan tahun 2010. Adapun dalam menganalisis data pasang surut digunakan 2 (dua) buah metode, yaitu: metode Admiralty dan Least Square. Adapun rata-rata perbedaan pasang dan surut terlama terdapat diantara stasiun Tanjung Buyut dengan Boombaru, yaitu sekitar 4 jam 30 menit untuk kondisi pasang dan 5 jam 20 menit untuk kondisi surut. Tipe pasang surut yang dihasilkan dari analisis komponen harmonik pasang surut Admiralty di semua stasiun pengamatan bersifat pasang surut tunggal. Adapun tipe pasang surut yang dihasilkan dari analisis komponen harmonik pasang surut Least Square di semua stasiun pengamatan bersifat pasang surut tunggal kecuali stasiun Tanjung Buyut yang bersifat pasang surut campuran condong tunggal Kata Kunci: Karakteristik Pasang Surut, Sungai Musi, Admiralty, Least Square.
