Abstract

Rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) is one of the pest insects that cause great losses. This rhinoceros beetle becomes the main pest in palm oil plants, therefore control must be carried out. One effective control and also does not pollute the environment is the bioinsectiside-based B. thuringiensis. In the stage of making bioinsecidides based on B. thuringiensis is propagated using an alternative medium, namely liquid organic waste media. The purpose of the study was to find out the effectiveness of various liquid organic waste media and their effectiveness in controlling rhinoceros beetles. The research was organized into an experiment designed with a complete randomized design (RAL). The isolate used is a collection isolate from the Laboratory of Phytopathology Department of Pests and Plant Diseases and is re-released on NGKG media. In the manufacture of bioinsecidide B. thuringiensis the media used is biourine, molasses, tofu liquid waste, old coconut water waste, bran water waste, and Nutrient broth (NB) instant media. Bioinsectisides are applied to rhinoceros beetle feed with a concentration of 3 ml of bioinsecticide solution and 47 ml of aquades. The average spore density is highest in the manufacture of bioinsecids 72 hours, namely in the treatment of 5 (Bran + biourine) isolate A15 and treatment 12 (LCT + molasses 5%) OJ isolate with an average of 18.29x1012 spores / ml and 17.97x1012 spores / ml. The highest average mortality occurs in treatment 5 (Bran + biourine). For the length and weight of the larvae of the rhinoceros beetle is under effect after the application of bioinsectisides. Larvae infected with bioinsectisides undergo size shrinkage and weight loss.
