Abstract

Test on the electrolysis of water using Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) with Cu2O/C catalysts on current and loading catalyst varied has been done. The electrode was characterized using Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) method and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). The ECSA and the electrical conductivity maximum value of the electrode with Cu2O/C catalyst was on loading of catalyst 2 mg/cm2 with the value were 64.54 cm2/g and 3.04×10-6 S/cm respectively. That signed the catalytic activity and conductivity of the electrode was great. Meanwhile, the highest hydrogen production rate was 3.75 mL/s with a catalyst loading of 2.5 mg/cm2 and a current of 3 A. The rate of hydrogen production was increasing by raising the used loading of the catalyst.
