Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) to identify the characteristics of tourist and the assessment of tourist`s to the existence of Jeruk Gerga Agrotourism in Pagar Alam City. (2) Identify the factors that influence the number of visits and estimate the economic value of Jeruk Gerga Agrotourism in Pagar Alam City. (3) Formulating the development strategy of Jeruk Gerga Agrotourism in Pagar Alam City. This research was conducted from November to December 2021 in Pagar Alam City. The method used in this research is the survey method and the sampling method used in this research is the non-probability sampling or purposive method with the determination of the sample using the Lemeshow formula and obtained a total sample of 30 samples taken at 4 research locations, namely Agrowisata Kebun Jeruk Gerga, Agrowisata Jeruk Gerga Niandi, Agrowisata Jeruk Gerga Sidarhan Siani, dan Agrowisata Mr D. Data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. The results showed that 1). The characteristics of touris who come to visit are dominated by tourists in the age group of 17-25 years with agro-tourism attractions as the main attraction and preference for the highest value of agro-tourism characteristics. 2). Travel costs are a factor that significantly influences the demand function for visits to Jeruk Gerga Agrotourism. Based on the results of the linear regression analysis that has been carried out, the consumer surplus value is Rp122,310.64 per individual per year of visit and the economic value of the benefits of Jeruk Gerga Agrotourism is Rp1.394.341.296. 3). Jeruk Gerga Agrotourism is in quadrant I position and the recommended strategy is an aggressive strategy. Based on the results of the internal external matrix, it was found that Jeruk Gerga Agrotourism was in number I (growth and build), meaning that it was suitable to be carried out intensively, such as spreading information widely through promotion, quality development of Jeruk Gerga Agrotourism, development of facilities and infrastructure.
