Abstract
Indonesia is a country that generates a lot of natural resources, one of which is biogas, which is used as a source of energy in the community. Biogas is a clean, renewable energy source (EBT). Because biogas contains a high concentration of methane (CH4), which accounts for 45-75 percent of the total biogas content, it can be used to replace fossil fuels. Biogas contains a number of impurities, including carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). Purification using Steel Wool, Zeolite, and Nylon Gauze is used to reduce the concentration of Hydrogen Sulfide. It is also used to increase the levels of methane (CH4). This filter combination was performed with three treatments based on their proportions: 40 cm nylon gauze, 40 cm steel wool, 40 cm zeolite, 60 cm nylon gauze, 30 cm steel wool, 30 cm zeolite, and 30 cm nylon gauze, Steel Wool 30 cm, Zeolite 60 cm. Each treatment was performed 5 (five) times at various times. In this study, the experimental design was completely randomized, with three treatments and five replications. The best treatment in this study was the second treatment, which consisted of 60 cm Nylon Gauze, 30 cm Steel Wool, and 30 cm Zeolite and was able to increase the highest methane content, which was 302 percent, as well as produce the highest temperature of 144O C
