Abstract

This study aims to identify the independent character of children aged (5-6) years during the Covid-19 pandemic in Tanjung Batu Timur Village which is focused on the form of physical independence character. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with three research subjects. Data collection techniques used by researchers are observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis used is Miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis, including data collection from interviews, observations and documentation, then reducing the data that has been obtained from the field, presenting the data in the form of a short narrative and drawing conclusions. Researchers used three research subjects, namely children aged (5-6) years in Tanjung Batu Timur Village. The results showed that the character of the physical independence of children aged (5-6) years during the Covid-19 pandemic was that children were able to bathe themselves, brush their teeth, wash their hands before and after eating and after activities outside the home, eat alone, choose healthy foods. desired, puts on and takes off clothes, chooses clothes to use, puts on and takes off socks and shoes, cleans oneself after urinating, and puts toys back together after use.
