Abstract

This experimental study aims to determine whether there is an effect of applying the Problem Based Learning model on student learning outcomes. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip on March 10-30 May 2021. The samples used as much at two classes, using a quasi experimental design method with a nonequivalent control group design type. The technique of analysis data are the mean difference test, simple regression analysis, analysis of the influence among variables and coefficient of determination. The results of the mean difference test show that tcalculate/Sig.2-tailed of learning results was 0.018 is smaller than the significance level (0.018<0.05) indicating that H0 is rejected and H1 accepted. Simple regression analysis obtained Y = 67.582 + 0.240X, shows that if Problem Based Learning (X) increases by 1 unit student learning outcomes (Y) will likewise increase by 0.240 indicating that the regression is positive. The the influence among variables analysis showed that the biserial coefficient value is 0.482 for learning result of the Problem Based Learning model. The calculation of the coefficient of determination showed the application of the Problem Based Learning models was affected learning result by 23.3%. So, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning models was effected the learning in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip the subject matter hydrolysis of salt.
