Abstract

The efforts to meet the demand for seahorses are also suspended on arrest in nature. As a result, the sea horse is increasingly threatened its existence, to solve that problem so cultivation of sea horses need to do. Especially in the field so that it can be produced hatchery seed production of sea horses (juwana) that have good quantity and good quality. This research v/as conducted on October 12 to December 6, 2011 in Balai Budidaya Laut Lampung, Propinsi Bandar Lampung. The purpose of this research was to determine effect of combination the amount of feed seahorse juveniles produced by seahorse (Hippocampus kuda) and to determine the level of graduation life (Survival Rate), weight, and mortality of prime seahorses. The method in this research is a laboratory experimental method which i s the method to get the research databy conducted in the laboratory experiments through direct observation and recording. Prime seahorse (Hippocampus kuda) which ready to spawnthen cultivated, after that given the form of a combination treatment of feed at each prime seahorses. The combination of feed given in the form of shrimp rebon (Mesopodopsis), shrimp rebon with artemia, shrimp jambret (Mysids Shrimp) with artemia, and shrimp with shrimp jambretrebon and artemia. The results of this study indicate that the number of juwana produced most present in the combination treatment in the form of shrimp feed with artemia rebon, whereas combination treatment rebon feed shrimp had results the least number of juwana. Life the graduation rate (Hippocampus kuda) is very low, then the mortality rate is very high and there was no effect of feeding a combination of the change of the weight of the prime seahorses.
