Abstract
This study entitled ‘ The Role of PT. Pertamina Refinery Unit III Plaju Sungai Gerong Palembang City In year 2010-2016. The aimed of this study were to know how the Development of Pertamina Refinery Unit III Plaju Sungai Gerong and how the development of PT. Pertamina Refinery Unit III Plaju Sungai Gerong in both social sector and economy Sector was historic method in which; heuristic, sources critic, data interpretation and Historiography. While, sociology and economic approach was used in this study. The result of the study showed that PT. Pertamina Refinery Unit III Plaju Sungai Gerong as one of the state owned enterprises which managed Palembang natural resources not only focus on industrial sector but also do obligations of company as the social responsibility to the society. Moreover, this program have impacts to social life and economy. The role of the company in social sectors included observing education sector, religion sector, medical sector and environment sector. While, economy sector including on how the role of the company in increasing the citizens economy of Palembang City. Keyword : Pertamina, Role, Society, Social, Economy.
