Abstract

Research conducted entitled "The Effect of Critical Incident Strategies on Students' Critical Thinking Ability in Historical Subjects in Class XI of SMA Negeri 3 Tanjung Raja". The problem examined in this thesis is whether there is an influence of the application of the critical incident strategy to students' critical thinking skills on history subjects in class XI of SMA Negeri 3 Tanjung Raja. The methodology used in this study is an experimental research method which is divided into two classes namely the experimental group and the control group. The research population used was all students of class XI of SMA Negeri 3 Tanjung Raja. The population was sampled using the Random Sampling technique (simple random sample), so that the research sample was obtained, namely class XI MIPA 1 as an experimental class and class XI MIPA 2 as a control class. Data collection techniques used were observation and test techniques. Statistics used to analyze data in proving hypotheses are divided into two ways namely with a significant level of Fcount and Ftable with a significant level of 0.05, then obtained: Fhkol = 45.97> 2.27 Significant, Fhbar = 5.4> 3.90 Significant, Fhint = 2.02> 2.27 Significant. Based on the results of this hypothesis it can be said that there is an influence in the application of the critical incident learning strategy to students' critical thinking skills in history subjects in class XI of SMA Negeri 3 Tanjung Raja.
