Abstract

SUMMARY Research has been conducted on the manufacture of carbon cucumber pulp and its application as an electrochemical double-layer electrode capacitor. This study aims to electrochemically predict carbon from cucumber pulp (DTS) with variations in the type of electrolyte concentration NaNO3 (sodium nitrate). Carbon DTS was made by the carbonization process for 16 hours and microwave dipirolysis for 25 minutes. Dts carbon pore characterization results in a pore surface area of 821,523 m.2 g -1 , pore volume of 55,227.3 cm3 g -1 , total pore volume of 97 cm3 g -1 , and a conductivity value of 2.42x10-6 S.cm-1 . Carbon was characterized using XRD, SEM-EDX and FTIR. The result was a formed graphite crystal structure. The Sem-EDX results indicated that m was amorphous. The FTIR spectrum pattern had a carbonyl group at 1680 cm-1 . The highest cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurement result in NaNO3 electrolytes, 1M used carbon: graphite (3:7) comparison electrodes with a power value of 0.94 mW, energy reaching 19.14 mW.h and a capacitance value at a scan rate of 50 mW of 9.4 F.The results of the galvanostatic measurement of emptying filling obtained the best stability result of electrolyzed DTS carbon using NaNO3 with a concentration of 1 M with a ratio of carbon: graphite (3:7).
