Abstract

The price of coconut in Tri Mulya Agung Village in 2018 or before the drop in the price of coconut may exceed Rp3.000 per grain. Since 2019, the price of coconut has remained low, until December 2020, when it reached a high of Rp2.650 per grain. The people of Tri Mulya Agung village, the majority of whom are coconut farmers, may see their revenue reduced as a result of this. The goals of this study are to: 1) compare income before and after the price of coconut dropped in Tri Mulya Agung Village, Lalan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. 2) To determine the efforts taken in the short and long term to counteract the income decline. 3) Examine the factors that influence coconut growers' income in Tri Mulya Agung Village, Lalan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. This study took place in the village of Tri Mulya Agung in the Musi Banyuasin Regency of South Sumatra's Lalan District. The survey approach was employed in this study using a sample collection of 30 farmer respondents as the research method. (1) There is a considerable difference in income before and after the price reduction in coconut, with the average income before the price decline being Rp. 23,398,503 per year vs Rp. 20,428,503 per year for farmers after the price decline in "deep" coconut. (2) On coconut plantations, only approximately 30% of farmers practice intercropping in the near term. While long-term revenue from sources other than coconut farming climbed from Rp3,716,842 to Rp19,721,053 per year. (3) Selling prices, production yields, and production expenses are all elements that influence the fall in farmers' income. All of these have a major impact on deep coconut producers' income loss.
