Abstract

Ecosistem of mangrove represent switchover ecosistem between land and sea that have a habitat, spawning ground, nursery ground and feeding ground from kind of fish, as crustacea, mollusc. Gastropods represent amount of mollusc that have a habitat in mangrove forest. This research is detain to see a relationship between gastropods density and mangrove density which is done on march 2006 whitch transect square method. Square transect that is used to mangrove which have a measurement 10 x 10 m2 for tree, 5 x 5 m2 for sampling, and 1 x 1 m2 for seedling, for gastropods is used square transect that have size 1 x 1 m2, environment simbol which is measured as temperature, salinity, pH, organic substance dissolve, and substrat textur. Respect from the reseach to show up the existence effect mangrove density, would effect at gastropods density. Gastropods that is found in reseach location are 12 spesies from 8 family. Gastropods spesies that are many founded from Littorinidae family, gastropods density that have high amount existance at first station are 1533 spesies/100 m2 then spesies that have a low density point at second station are 400 spesies/100 m2, density indeks amount between 0,414-1,785 that show up kind of gastropods at reseach location kind to low. Custom indeks amount between 0,414-0,799 and dominant indeks amount between 0,222-0,847 that have explain spesies dominance at stasion. Mangrove vegetation are founded 7 spesies mangrove for 3 family for to all vegetation (tree, sampling, seedling) family of Rhizoporaceae dominate for all grade vegetation highest density is gotten by Rhizopora apiculata spesies.
