Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to describe the role of Koperasi Serba Usaha Syariah Mekar Sari Mandiri in the home industry business, 2) to measure the welfare of farmers in the home industry, 3) to analyze the relationship between the role of Koperasi Serba Usaha Syariah Mekar Sari Mandiri with farmers welfare in Mulia Sari Village, Tanjung Lago district, Banyuasin regency. This research used a survey method, namely the primary data collection method obtained directly from observations in the field. Primary data were collected directly through interviews using questionnaires. Secondary data were collected in the form of general conditions of the research area, village monographs and previous studies. The role of Koperasi Serba Usaha Syariah Mekar Sari Mandiri in home industry businesses measured using 5 indicators was in high criteria with an average score of 52,15. The welfare of farmers involved in home industry measured using 2 indicators was in the high criteria with an average score of 20,96. The role of Koperasi Serba Usaha Syariah Mekar Sari Mandiri has a significant relationship with the farmers’ welfare with value of Sig (2- tailed) was 0,043 (< 0,05). The strength of the relationship between the role of Koperasi Serba Usaha Syariah Mekar Sari Mandiri with the level of farmers welfare was moderate with the correlation coefficient of 0,359. The relationship between the role of Koperasi Serba Usaha Syariah Mekar Sari Mandiri and the farmers’ welfare was positive, which meant the higher the role the higher the farmer’s welfare.
