Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Identify the factors that influence the decision of pepper farmers to convert pepper to oil palm which consists of internal factors including plant age (th), land area (ha), number of dependents (org), and external factors. covering distance from house to land (km), marketing channels, selling price (Rp / kg) in Mabat Village, Bakam District, Bangka Regency. 2) Analyze the comparison of farmers' income levels before and after converting from pepper farming to oil palm farming in Mabat Village, Bakam District, Bangka Regency. This research was conducted in Mabat Village, Bakam District, Bangka Regency. The research method used is a survey method. The sampling method is simple random sampling method with a sample size of 40 farmers who converted pepper plantations to oil palm plantations. The results of this study use multiple linear regression data processing methods which indicate that the factors that significantly influence farmers' decisions in converting pepper plantations to oil palm plantations are education, age of farmers, number of dependents, farm income while farming experience and distance from house to land. has no significant effect on farmers' decisions in converting pepper plantations to oil palm plantations. The income of farmers after converting their plantation from pepper to oil palm actually makes the income earned by farmers significantly increased by a difference of Rp33,348,314.94 arable per year with a t-test value of 2 paired samples of 0,000, which means Ha is accepted.
