Abstract
The research has been conducted on the effect of Chaetoceros sp., Isochrysis sp., Nitzschia sp. to the population growth of Copepod Acartia sp. at the laboratory scale. This research aims to get the species of fitoplankton giving the highest product to the population growth of Copepod Acartia sp. The research had been carried out during August to October 2007 at Laboratory of Zooplankton, Marine Farming Departement Lampung. The observation was conducted include density and population growth of Copepod Acartia sp., also the quality of physical and Chemical media, including temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen and ammonia. The research design applied was Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatments and 5 repetitions. The data were analyzed with Analyze of Variance and Least Significant Difference test. The results showed that giving Chaetoceros sp., Isochrysis sp., Nitzschia sp. are effects to the population growth of Copepod Acartia sp. with highest population top reached by treatment B (1402 ind/1) that is Acartia sp. gived food of Isochrysis sp., followed by treatment A (1284 ind/1) that is Acartia sp. gived food of Chaetoceros sp. and treatment C (216 ini7!) thrt vz Acartia sp. gived food of Nitzschia sp.
