Abstract
Pisang Gadang island has cover of coral reef by branching type and sensitive to contamination because this location near by estuary of Batang Arau River, activity of tourism, fisherman moorings, settlement of resident and port of Teluk Bayur. The Activities have potency to throw away lead (Pb) into waters environment. Considering existence of coral as sesil biota capable to lead (Pb) absorbtion of water hence require to be research conceming lead (Pb) content in coral branching. The purpose of this research is to know the content of lead (Pb) in coral branching at Pisang Gadang Island, Padang. Sampling applies purposive sampling method to take life coral of branching type. Sampling was done by three point of station and thrice repetition every station. Measurement of Pb using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy) showed that lead (Pb) mean content ffom three station is 18,79 �} 11,23 ppm. The result of comparison showed that significant difference of between Station’s B and Station’s C by value of significant 5 %.
