Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis disease is a contagious infection affect widely to the quality of life human soul. Since 1995, Indonesia implement a program of pulmonary tuberculosis eradiction through pulmonary tuberculosis treatment with DOTS strategy (Directly Observed Treatment Shortcourse) which can break the chain of transmisssion of the illness. Number of patients in gumawang public health center with pulmonary tuberculosis BTA positive in 2016 as many as 13 people with 53% case detection rate and 100% cure rate. This means that the case detection rate at gumawang public health center has not reached the national target >70%. This study aims to determine the management of pulmonary tuberculosis program with DOTS strategy at gumawang public health center. This research is a qualitative approachment. Methods of data collection was done by in-depth interviews, observation and document research. Informants in this research amounted to 8 peoples came from gumawang public health center and district health office. The results showed that the case detection is not done by home contact examination with TB patient and there has been no comprehensive informations about TB paru disease and limited training is only given to health personel in the public health center so that it does not involve the village midwife at the work area of gumawang public health center. It can be concluded that the management of pulmonary tuberculosis program with DOTS strategy at gumawang public health center not running optimally. It is seen from the quality of personnel is still lacking in the pulmonary tuberculosis case finding effort and training to accommodate patients with TB in sputum, pulmonary tuberculosis case finding and lack of informations to the community about pulmonary TB so lack of knowledge of the patients in the sputum accommodate so it can obstruct sputum examined microscopically. It is hoped that district health center concerned can constantly monitor and evaluate the implementation of programs specifically pulmonary tuberculosis and sustainable and provides for the allocation of funds to the officers of TB in public health center in an effort to crawl, case finding and counseling.
