Abstract

The research problem of this research is the language errors in writing official letters in the office of the village head of Sungai Rebo and its implications for language learning. This research aims to describe (1) misspelling of official letters in the office of the village head of Sungai Rebo and its implications for language learning, (2) vocabullary mistakes of official letters in the office of the village head of Sungai Rebo and its implications for language learning, (3) sentence errors of official letters in the office of the village head of Sungai Rebo and its implications for language learning. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The data collection in this study uses documentation techniques. The data used is 50 letters. Research data sources using a collection of official letter sheets in the office of the village head of Sungai Rebo. The data analysis techniques uses 4 steps, namely (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation and (4) conclusion. The result of this study show, namely (1) misspelling of official letters in the office of the village head of Sungai Rebo include inaccuracies in writing capital letters, bold, italics, prepositions, numbers and numerals, punctuation in accordance with PUEBI, (2) vocabullary mistakes of official letters in the office of the village head of Sungai Rebo happen because the choosen vocabullary is not standard, (3) sentence errors of official letters in the office of the village head of Sungai Rebo happen because of the waste of words, one topic becomes two paragraphs, the sentences are not effective and not parallel. The results in this study has implications in learning Indonesian for the seventh grade with KD. 4.12 which discusses about writing official letters with the correct language.
