Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of planting depth on oil palm seedlings growth in two different plant media. This research was executed in PT. Golden Blossom of Sumatra at Abab District in Muara Enim regency in from March 2008 until June 2008, by using Randomized Block Design method (RAK) with two factorial, with ten treatment combinations each repeated as multiples of three. The first factor is planting depth (K) to consist of K I cm), K(2 cm), K(3 cm), ( 4 cm)and Ks (5 cm). The second factor is plant media (M) to consist of mineral soil media (M and peat soil media (M Result of research indicated the planting depth 5 cm (Kgive the longest appearance of plumula and planting depth of I cm (kgives the lowlest seedling survival percentage. Peat plant media treatment (M2) gives good influence of high incrementation of seedling, leaf frond total, incrementation of stem diameter, Total Leaf Area (TLA). Treatment combination KMgive lowest seedling survival percentage.
