Abstract

The research about “Isolation Antibacterial Compound of Kirinyu Leaves (Eupathorium Odoratum L.) and Determinate The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration For Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia colf ’ has been done from April until November 2009 in Genetika & Biotechnology Laboratory, Biology Department, Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Sriwijaya University. This research aim to obtain compound antibacterial found on leaves Kirinyu (Eupathorium odoratum L.), to Determines Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) from compound antibacterial obtained to Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and determines faction of active compound of antibacterial from Kirinyu Leaves {Eupathorium odoratum L.), insolation of Active compound is done step by step started from extraction process, activity test antibacterial is done with diffusion method to the Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The results show that compound of antibacterial is in active compound of ethyl acetate. fenols compound is anactive compound faction with Rf value 0.7 to the Staphylococcus aureus and also Escherichia coli. The highest value of MIC from E4 are 10.18 mm to the Staphylococcus aureus and 10.26 mm to the Escherichia coli at 1000 pg/ml concentration. While smallest MIC that is 7.58 mm to Staphylococcus aureus and 6.23 mm to Escherichia coli there is at concentration of 125 pg/ml.
