Abstract

The research conducted by the researcher aims to determine the use of euphemisms and dysphemisms in the film Bumi Manusia and their implications in learning Indonesian in high school. The research method uses research that describes words without numbers, namely qualitative. The data analysis technique used the listening and note-taking technique. The data analysis technique uses: Preparation stage, implementation stage and data presentation stage. Based on the research results, the use of euphemisms is more than dysphemism. There are 63 data on the use of euphemisms and 59 data on the use of dysphemism. The use of dominant euphemism for praise and dominant disemism of speech to express angry feelings.
