Abstract

Isolation and Identification of Xylanase Producing Thermophilic Bacteria from Hot Springs Tanjung Sakti Lahat, South Sumatera was conducted in April-June, 2013, a sampling of hot water and sediments as bacterial isolates taken from Hot Springs Tanjung Sakti Lahat, South Sumatera while the Isolation and Identification of Xylanase Producing thermophilic bacteria carried in the Laboratory of Genetics and Biotechnology, and Laboratory of Microbiology Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Sriwijaya. This research aims to obtain xylanase producing thermophilic bacteria isolate and determine the character of each isolate were get it. Isolation result obtained eighteen isolates of thermophilic and selection get result of eight isolates xylanase producing thermophilic bacteria. Based on characteristic and identification the bacteria belonging to the Thermococcus sp (TSjAi), Clostridium sp (TS1S2), Bacillus sp (TS1S3), Bacillus sp (TS1S4), Saccharococcus sp (TS2A2), Acidothermus sp (TS2A3), Saccharococcus sp(TS2A4)dan Clostridium sp(TS2S4).
