Abstract

In automotive, one of the materials that are often used is Aluminum Alloy (AA) 6061, an alloy of the chemical elements Si (silicon) and Mg (magenesium) which have different strength characteristics. This study aims to determine the value of the fatigue strength of aluminum alloy AA6061, both heat-treated and not heat-treated. The research method used is the experimental research method by observing the specimen directly. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out, it is concluded that the fatigue strength of AA6061 tends to decrease when heat treated.
