Abstract
Biomassa hutan berperan penting dalam siklus karbon, karena 50% total biomassa merupakan cadangan karbon tersimpan. Penelitian mengenai pendugaan karbon tersimpan serasah dari tiga spesies bambu di kawasan hutan bambu Pagar Alam Provinsi Sumatera Selatan telah dilakukan pada Maret hingga Mei 2014. Pengambilan sampel serasah dilakukan secara random pada 3 plot yang telah ditentukan dari jenis bambu yang telah di identifikasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa cadangan karbon serasah tertinggi ditemukan pada serasah Gigantochloa wrayi Gamble sebesar 24 tonC/ha dengan nilai biomassa serasah sebesar 48 ton/ha, sedangkan cadangan karbon serasah terendah ditemukan pada Gigantochloa robusta Kurz sebesar 15,6 tonC/ha dengan nilai biomassa serasah 31,2 ton/ha. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut diperkirakan jumlah cadangan karbon tersimpan pada serasah di kawasan hutan bambu Pagar Alam adalah 103,5 tonC/ha dari ± 5 ha area yang teramati.
