Abstract

Isolasi dan identifikasi bakteri pereduksi sulfat dari area pertambangan batubara Kecamatan Merapi Barat, Kabupaten Lahat Sumatera Selatan. Telah dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai Juni 2014. Sampel berupa lumpur dan air asam diambil dari area pertambangan batubara Kecamatan Merapi Barat, Kabupaten Lahat Sumatera Selatan. Isolasi, karakterisasi dan identifikasi dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan bakteri yang mampu mereduksi sulfat dari area pertambangan, dan mengetahui genera isolat bakteri pereduksi sulfat yang diperoleh dari area Pertambangan Kecamatan Merapi Barat, Kabupaten Lahat Sumatera Selatan. Hasil isolasi diperoleh 20 isolat murni. 12 isolat bakteri perduksi sulfat, berdasarkan analisis menggunakan dendogram, diperoleh isolat LA1, LA5, LL1 yang memiliki kemiripan rendah sebesar 61% dengan genus Aeromonas sp. Isolat LL2, LL5 memiliki kemiripan rendah sebesar 58% dengan genus Plcmococus sp. Isolat LA2, LA7, LL3 memiliki kemiripan sedang sebesar 90% dengan genus Veillonella sp. Isolat LL4 memiliki kemiripan sedang sebesar 80% dengan genus Veillonella sp. Isolat LA3 memiliki kemiripan sedang sebesar 90% dengan genus Acidamicocus sp. Isolat LA6 memiliki kemiripan sedang sebesar 85% dengan genus Acidamicocus sp dan isolat LA memiliki kemiripan sedang sebesar 75% dengan genus Megaspora sp
