Abstract

Isolation, characterization and antioxidant activity assay flavonoid compound from methanol extract of the stem bark gamboge {Garcinia xanthochymus) has been done. The extraction was done by maceration, separation and purification of isolated compound by chromatography technique. Antioxidant activity assay from isolation compound used DPPH (1,1 diphenylpycrii hidrazyl) method with variated concentration J 000, 500, 250, 125, 62,5, 31,5, 15,625, and 7,812 ppm. Isolated compound was yellow crystal with melting point 300-301 °C. The structure of this compound was determined based on spectroscopic data such as including IR, UV, NMR 1-D, NMR 2D and compared with reported data. Based on spectral data analysis could be concluded that isolated compound is biflavonoid, (+) morelloflavon with molecule formula C30H20O11. This compound showed that active as antioksidant with [C50 26,7 ppm.
