Abstract
The secondary metabolite compound from Aspergillus fumigatus endophytic fungus on the stem bark of kandis gajah (Garcinia griffithii T Anders) has been isolated. The isolation was begun with the cultivation of the Aspergillus fumigatus fiingus in 5 L of media PDB (Potato Dextrose Broth) for 8 weeks. The medium was extracted with ethyl acetate and the extract which obtained was concentrated by rotary evaporator. Ethyl acetate extract was separated and purified by chromatographic techniques to obtain pure compounds. The molecular structure of the compound was determined base on spectroscopy data NMR 1D whereas antioxidant activity test by use DPPH (l,l-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazil) method at concentration 500, 250, 125, 62.5 and 31.25 ppm. Based on spectroscopic data analysis it could be concluded that the compound was aliphatic with 28 carbon atoms and 38 protons attached to the carbon atom. This compound gave IC50 value 500.79 ppm, and confirmed inactive as an antioxidant
